Zesty Steak Salad

Here's a Japanese-inspired beef dinner that's quick to make. The subtle spiciness comes from pepper flakes, wasabi powder, and fresh ginger.

1 tablespoonsoy saucesee savings

1 teaspoonred pepper flakessee savings

1 poundflank steaksee savings

1/4 poundsnow peas, trimmedsee savings

1/4 cuprice wine vinegarsee savings

2 tablespoonsvegetable oilsee savings

1 tablespoonwasabi powdersee savings

1 tablespoonsoy saucesee savings

1 tablespoongrated fresh gingersee savings

1 teaspoonsaltsee savings

1/2 teaspoonminced garlicsee savings

1/4 teaspoonfreshly ground peppersee savings

2 cupsshredded daikon or red radishessee savings

6 cupsthinly sliced romaine lettucesee savings

6 cupsthinly sliced Napa cabbagesee savings

2 cupstrimmed watercresssee savings

1 cupsliced red radishessee savings

1/2 cupthinly sliced green onionssee savings

Directions
1.
Heat grill or broiler. Combine soy sauce and pepper flakes in pie plate. Add steak, turning to coat. Grill 5 minutes per side for medium-rare. Let stand 5 minutes. Slice very thin diagonally.
2.
Cook snow peas in boiling water 30 seconds; drain. Rinse under cold running water; drain again. Halve diagonally.
3.
Make Wasabi Dressing: Puree all ingredients in blender. Transfer to large bowl.
4.
Add all vegetables to dressing and toss to coat. Divide among 6 serving plates and top with sliced steak. Makes 6 servings.
