  • 1  large  cantaloupe or honeydew melon, halved crosswise and seededOn Sale
  • 1/4  cup  peach preservesOn Sale
  • 1  tablespoon  finely chopped crystallized gingerOn Sale
  • 2  teaspoons  finely shredded lemon peelOn Sale
  • 1  tablespoon  fresh lemon juiceOn Sale
  • 1/8  teaspoon  ground clovesOn Sale

Directions

Cut each melon half into quarters. Score the melon by making shallow diagonal cuts across the surface using a sharp knife; set aside.

For glaze, combine peach preserves, crystallized ginger, lemon peel, lemon juice, and cloves in a small saucepan. Heat over low heat until preserves are melted. Reserve 1 tablespoon of the mixture. Brush remaining glaze over scored melon pieces.
3.
Grill melon pieces, flesh side down, on the rack of an uncovered grill directly over medium coals for 4 to 6 minutes or until heated through. Brush with reserved glaze. Makes 4 side-dish servings.
