How to Make Oatmeal Cookies
-Okay, everybody, it's Chef Lovely here, and today we are gonna make delicious oatmeal cookies. So, here are the ingredients: 3/4 cups of butter, softened; 1 cup of packed brown sugar; 1/2 cup of granulated sugar; 1 teaspoon baking powder; 1/4 of a teaspoon of baking soda; 1/2 teaspoon of brown cinnamon, which is optional; 1/4 teaspoon of ground cloves, also optional; 2 eggs; 1 teaspoon of vanilla; 1-3/4 cups of all purpose flour and 2 cups of rolled oats. Okay, so let's get started on these delicious oatmeal cookies. First thing, we're gonna cream our butter. We're gonna beat this on a medium speed with our hand mixer for about 30 seconds. So, here we go. Okay, so it's been about 30 seconds and our butter is nice and fluffy, a little bit creamed. So, we're gonna go in with both of our sugars. We have our brown sugar and we have our white granulated sugar, and we're gonna go in-- make sure you get all of your sugar. Don't leave anything behind, okay. So, now let's beat it again to incorporate our sugars with our butter. Here we go. Okay, so I started to cream together our 2 sugars with out butter just for a few seconds and now we're gonna go ahead and add in our baking powder and our baking soda. So, let's give this another good mix before we add in our eggs. Here we go. Okay there we go. So, I'm gonna get my bowl, just scrape down just like this making sure that we're incorporating all of those ingredients, fantastic. Let's get that a little bit better off there. Okay, now we're gonna go ahead and incorporate our eggs and our vanilla. We're gonna give it another big mix and then we're gonna add our flour. So, here we go, here's our vanilla. Let's beat up again. Okay, fantastic. Now, we're gonna add in our flour just like that. So, we've just added in our flour. We're gonna start it loafs that we don't get flour everywhere and then we're gonna increase our speed to go ahead and full incorporate the rest of our flour. So, here we go. Okay, so let's bump up the speed just a little bit. Okay and as you can see the sides of my bowl is a little bit dirty, so we're gonna go in just like this. I'm gonna clean down the edges of my bowl just like this, and now we're gonna go in with our oats. So, let's go ahead and drop that in, and we're gonna give this a big stir, here we go. I'm just gonna fold in the oats. You kind of go all the way down and bring the batter kind of right on top so we can fully incorporate all of these oats, okay. Now, at this point, you can add raisin, you can add nuts, [unk]. This is a very basic recipe for an oatmeal cookie, but have fun, add different things in there. Okay, this is done and it looks absolutely gorgeous. Here is our baking sheet. This is un-greased. There's enough oil in here these cookies will not stick. So, we're gonna take our spoon and we're gonna put a little dollop of our oatmeal cookie butter orange just like that. Our oven is already preheated to 375 degrees. These cookies are gonna cook for about 8 to 10 minutes or until the outside edges are nice and golden brown, so very easy to stick a spoonful out here. Put it down right on your cookie sheet. They're gonna kind of fall little bit. That's okay, we want that to happen. They're gonna spread out even more when they're cooking and there we go. That's our last oatmeal cookie. So, I'm gonna go ahead and pop this in oven and when we come back, were gonna see how beautiful and golden brown these oatmeal cookies are, be back real soon. Okay everybody, so I've pulled out My cookies on the oven and as you can see they look absolutely delicious. They are nice and golden brown on the bottom and the edges and you can see the little flakes of oats in our cookie. So, try this recipe. You're gonna absolutely love it. This is our delicious Oatmeal Cookie.
