-Hey everyone, I'm Judith. We'll today I'm gonna be showing you how to make a really, really great appetizer. They are called Hash Brown Potato Cakes and they are absolutely delicious. So, what you'll need for this is 1 pound of pound russet or round red potatoes. We have coarsely grated potatoes, rinsed them and patted them dry. We have 1/2 medium onion, thinly sliced and quartered; 1 tablespoon of olive oil; 2 teaspoons of fresh thymes snipped; 1/4 teaspoon of salt; and 1/8 of teaspoon of black pepper. Alright, so first things first, let's work on this. Now, these are all served with really great breakfast dish or, you know, side with chicken or fish, and just work really, really well. So, we have our shredded potatoes. As I said, we'd peel them, we washed them, and we've shredded them coarsely, so we've got that there and I will just gonna add in our onions to this, our lovely fresh herbs go in there too that's gonna give a really, really nice aroma with the potatoes. Our olive oil goes in there too and that salt and pepper to state as well. Now, we have a hot skillet there, which we sprayed with some cooking spray, so that's getting nice and hot for our potatoes. On the medium high heat, we have our skillet and we have also preheated our oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit and lightly sprayed our back sheet. So, we'll mix all of that in together like so. Now, sometimes this can be a little temperamental. They might breakup easily. So, you just gonna handle this hash brown potato cakes with a little bit of care because the only thing holding them together is the olive oil. So, let's try and get around about 1 tablespoon like so. Now, what you will need ready on the go is your spatula. So, let's just put it on our spoon like so and we're just gonna transfer it to the hot pan. So you're gonna go in like so, got a nice heaped tablespoon and be very careful and we're gonna do same for this with the remainder of our potato mixture. So, our hash brown potato cakes ready. We flattened them with the spatula while they were in the skillet to create that round consistency and then we flip them over after 5 minutes until they are nice golden brown, cook them for 5 minutes on that side and now we've served them up, and they are looking great, as I said fantastic for breakfast with a nice little bit of bacon or as appetizer as well. So, there you go, that's how you make your hash brown potato cakes.
