Hey, everyone. I'm Judith. Well, it's always great to make sauce from scratch. So today, I'm gonna be showing you how to make homemade Spaghetti sauce. So, what you'll need for this is 1 cup of chopped onion; half a cup of chopped green sweet pepper; a quarter cup of chopped celery; 2 cloves of minced garlic; 1 tablespoon of cooking oil; 4 cups of chopped peeled tomato; 1/6 ounce can of tomato paste; a third of a cup of water; 2 tablespoons of snipped fresh parsley; 1 tablespoon of snipped fresh basil; 1 teaspoon of dried oregano, crushed; half a teaspoon of dried marjoram, crushed; 1 teaspoon of sugar; half a teaspoon of salt; a quarter teaspoon of black pepper; 8 ounces of spaghetti, which we've cooked and drained; and finely shredded parmesan cheese is optional. Wonderful. Alright. So, let's get our kitchen smelling fantastic with this lovely sauce. So we have a saucepan here. You can use a large dutch oven if you like. We're gonna put it to a medium heat, and first of all, we're gonna add in our oil to the pan. And what we wanna do is just saute up our vegetables. So in goes the chopped celery. The sweet green pepper goes in that too, our chopped onions, and our minced garlic. So, we'll let those saute for about 5 minutes until they get nice and soft and tender. So our veggies and our onion are nice and tender now. So, it's time to add in some of our other ingredients. So, in goes our chopped tomatoes. Our tomato paste also goes in there. Our water goes in there too, and now for all of our herb; so, all of these beautiful Italian really flavorful herbs. So, our marjoram, which I just love, love, love the scent of, goes in there, oregano, salt and pepper. And we're gonna leave the fresh herbs 'till right at the end so we can just stir those in or else they'll get a little bit soggy while this is cooking. So, let's give this whole mixture now a good stir and that is looking very colorful and just such a wonderful flavorful sauce to have with our spaghetti. So, what we wanna do now is bring this to a boil. Once it's reached boiling, we then wanna reduce the heat and let it simmer for 30 minutes covered with the lid on. Well, our spaghetti sauce is done. Now, we simmered it for 30 minutes, put the cover on, then we took the cover off and simmered it again for another 10 to 15 minutes. It really just depends according to the consistency that you want your spaghetti sauce, so I like mine a little bit thicker. That's why I simmered it for a little bit longer, but that just looks beautiful. So, right at the end now, we can add in our fresh herbs. So, in goes our fresh parsley and our fresh basil, which is just kind of finish that off with such a beautiful Italian flavor. So, we'll stir that in. Uh, and that's just magical, you know. You don't need-- You don't even need any ground beef or anything else like that. That's spaghetti sauce, some spaghetti, and that's all you need. So, we've plated that up, the cooked spaghetti there, and now all we're gonna do is pour some of these beautiful spaghetti sauce on top of that there. And if you have a little bit of parmesan cheese to garnish that with, that's all you need. So there you go everyone. Very simple. That's how you make your spaghetti sauce.
