How to Grill Filet Mignon

Once you know how to grill filet mignon properly, you'll no longer save it for special occasions—it's a delicious choice for any night you want to treat yourself to something special, even when you're short on time.

Hi, I'm Kristina with, and today we are making grilled filet mignon with vegetable kebabs. It's great for summer and perfect for entertaining. For your ingredients, here's what you're going to need: 1 lemon that's been zested and juiced, 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil, 1 tablespoon of dried oregano, a half teaspoon of salt, and a quarter teaspoon of freshly ground black pepper. Here, I have 16 cherry tomatoes, 10 ounces of white mushrooms that have been stemmed, 1 medium zucchini that you have lengthwise and then slice into 1 inch pieces and a small red onion cut into wedges. Finally, you'll need 4 filet mignon steaks. These are about a 1-1/2 to 2 inches thick. Let's put together the marinade. Start with your lemon zest, and the juice, olive oil, oregano, and salt and pepper. Combine all these together and now I'm gonna remove 2 tablespoons of the mixture. To this bowl, I'm going to add the tomatoes, the mushrooms, zucchini, and the red onion and I'm just gonna toss it all to coat the vegetables. Now, we get to thread the vegetables onto the skewers. Take 1 at a time and get each of those vegetables on there. This turns out really colorful and healthy. I'll continue threading the vegetables on the skewers until all of them look just this. I'm gonna take the reserved marinade and drizzle it over the steak and over the kebabs. The grill is fired up on high and ready to go. I'm gonna put the steaks on there about 4 to 6 minutes on each side for medium done this and then put the vegetable skewers on there, but those I'm gonna watch and turn frequently throughout the cooking time. Let's check out this meat. Oh, it's looking good. Now, you can see that I moved the kebabs to the top rack because they finished a little bit sooner than the steaks did. Okay, let's get these steaks off of the grill and onto our platter. Vegetables look gorgeous. I love grilled vegetables. Nice char on there. It doesn't get much better than this perfectly cooked gorgeous filet mignon, skewers of grilled vegetables on the side. Dinner is served. That's grilled filet mignon with vegetable kebabs.
