-Hey everyone, I'm Judith with recipe.com. And today, I'm gonna be making an 8-layer casserole, a really hearty and filling dish for all of the family. So what you're gonna need for this is 3 cups of cooked and drained medium noodles. We have 16 ounces of tomato sauce. We have half a cup of milk, 8 ounces of sour cream, 10 ounces of cooked and chopped spinach, 8 ounces of cream cheese, 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese, 1 small onion which we've chopped, 1 teaspoon of dried basil, half a teaspoon of sugar, half a teaspoon of garlic powder, a quarter teaspoon of salt, and a quarter teaspoon of black pepper. And right here, we have 1 pound of ground beef. So first of all, let's get our large skillet, and we're gonna put it on a medium heat. And what we first want to do is brown our ground beef, so let's get that in there. Chop it up a little. Get it around your skillet, and we're gonna cook it there until it just gets nice and brown. While our beef is browning, let's get together our lovely creamy concoction that's gonna be for our casserole. So, in a large bowl, let's mix together our sour cream and our cream cheese. Make sure you leave your cream cheese in a room temperature so it gets nice and soft. It's just easier when you mixed it, and we're gonna get our hand mixer, and we're gonna mix that and it always comes together on a medium speed. So, mix that for a couple minutes. And now what we're gonna do is just gonna stir in our milk like so and the chopped onions goes in there as well. So, we'll just stir that in altogether, and that is gonna be a great lovely creamy mix for our casserole. Well, our meat is browning beautifully and what you wanna do is drain off any excess fat before we add in our next ingredient. So, we've done that. And now what we're gonna do is add in our tomato sauce. And we're gonna add in all our dried ingredients so that basil will just give it a great, great flavor. Sugar goes in there, nice punch of garlic, and the salt and pepper of course. So, we'll give that a good mix. Bring to boiling. And after we've brought it to boiling, we're gonna reduce that and simmer it for about 5 minutes. Well, our meat mix mixture is about done now and it's looking and smelling delicious. I would eat that just like that, but we're not gonna do that. We are gonna build up our casserole. So, first thing's first. Let's get our cooked egg noodles and we're gonna take about half of them. You can use your hands. We're gonna layer them on our casserole dish first of all. This is the fun part. This is where you can immobile kids and it's a-- it's good fun. Alright, now, we're gonna put on half of our mixture on top of our noodles. Okay. That is looking good. Now, for our cream cheese mixture. So, we're gonna do exactly the same. We're gonna put half of our cream cheese mixture on top of our meat, and we're gonna spread that all along there. Now, we can reserve the rest of our cream cheese mixture and set it aside because we're gonna be using that a little bit later. And now, we're gonna put all of our spinach, our cooked spinach, on top. So, we can use our hands here too if you want. We're just gonna spread that on top. Alright. And again, we are gonna put on the remaining of our meat mixture on top of that spinach. Hey, this is looking very good already. Get it all around your casserole dish and then we're gonna put the remaining noodles as many as can fit on your casserole dish on top. Okay. So that is ready now to go in the oven. So, we preheated our oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, and this is gonna bake in there with a lightly greased aluminum foil so it's gonna be covered and it's gonna go in there for 45 minutes. Well, it's been about 45 minutes. We've taken our casserole out of the oven. Now, as you can see, it's just looking gorgeous. You can see all those beautiful layers there oozing into each other. So now for the last 10 minutes, we are going to put our-- the remainder of our cream cheese mixture on top of the noodles. Let's get all of that in there. So, cover it nicely. It's gonna give a lovely-- lovely color to the topping and then we're gonna get our cheddar cheese and just sprinkle that over the top. And that is just gonna be amazing once it's melted in there. Okay, so now we're gonna pop it back into the oven uncovered for another 10 minutes. Well, it's been about another 10 minutes. We've taken our casserole out. And as you can see, our cheese has melted beautifully on top of our casserole and that now is just about ready to eat. It's hearty. It's indulgent. It can feed all your family. That is how you make an 8-layer casserole. Well, thanks for watching everyone. For more great recipes and savings, go to recipe.com.
