Tropical Punch

Make-ahead punches ease party-day chores. Prepare the base for this fruit punch up to 24 hours ahead. Then add carbonated water and ice just before serving.

Ingredients

2 cupswatersee savings

1/4 cupsugarsee savings

11-inch piece fresh ginger or 3 inches stick cinnamonsee savings

1 6-ounce canfrozen pineapple or orange juice concentratesee savings

1/3 cuplime juicesee savings

-
2 cupscarbonated water, chilledsee savings

-
Icesee savings

-
4lime slices, halvedsee savings

Directions
1.
In a medium saucepan combine water, sugar, and ginger or cinnamon. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from heat. Remove and discard ginger or cinnamon stick.
2.
Stir in pineapple juice or orange juice concentrate and lime juice. Pour into a pitcher. Cover and chill 4 hours or until thoroughly chilled.
3.
Just before serving, stir in carbonated water. Serve over ice. Garnish with lime slices. Makes 8 (5-ounce) servings.
