Triple-Berry Angel Food Cake

Ingredients

1 15- or 16-ounce packageangel food cake mix, or one purchased standard-size angel food cakesee savings

1/2 cupsugarsee savings

2 tablespoonscornstarchsee savings

1/2 cupwatersee savings

-
1 16-ounce packagefrozen unsweetened blackberriessee savings

2-1/2 cupssliced fresh strawberries or whole fresh blueberriessee savings

Directions
1.
If using a cake mix, prepare the cake according to package directions and let the cake cool on wire rack.
2.
For the blackberry topping: In a large saucepan, stir together the sugar and cornstarch. Stir in the water.
3.
Add the blackberries. Cook and stir till mixture is thickened and bubbly. Cook and stir 2 minutes more. Remove the saucepan from the heat. Transfer the mixture to a bowl. Cover and chill.
4.
Serve the slices of cake topped with some of the fresh berries, blackberry sauce and whipped cream, if you like. Makes 10 servings.
