Tri-Corner Kisses
These triangle cookies are easy to shape, and with a chocolate candy in every one, they satisfy any sweet tooth.

Makes about 3 dozen.
Ingredients

2-1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1-1/2 teaspoons cinnamon

Pinch salt

1/2 cup solid vegetable shortening

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

3/4 tablespoon sugar

1 egg plus 1 egg yolk

1 teaspoon vanilla
-
1 teaspoon milk

36 chocolate kisses, unwrapped
Directions

Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray baking sheet.

Mix flour, baking powder, cinnamon, salt in bowl. Beat shortening, butter, 3/4 cup sugar in clean bowl. Add egg, yolk, vanilla; beat until smooth. Stir in flour mixture in 2 batches. Cover; refrigerate 4 hours.

Roll out dough on floured surface 1/4 inch thick with floured rolling pin. Cut into rounds, using 2-inch cookie cutter. Brush with egg wash. Place kiss in center of each. Lift three sides halfway up sides of kiss to form triangle. Place on prepared sheets; brush with wash. Sprinkle with a little sugar. Reroll scraps for more cookies.

Bake in 350 degree F oven 15 minutes or until very light golden. Transfer cookies to wire rack to cool. Makes about 3 dozen.
