2 tablespoons butter
1 small onion, diced
8 cups cooked cut green beans
1 10 3/4 ounce can condensed cream of onion soup
1 1/2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
1/2 cup half-and-half
1/2 cup sour cream
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 2.8 ounce can French-fried onions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Generously butter a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish.
In a large skillet, melt butter over medium-high heat. Add onion and cook until tender. Remove from heat and set aside to cool.
Bake until bubbly, approximately 25 minutes. Remove from oven and arrange French-fried onions on top. Return to oven and bake for 5 minutes.
