Ingredients
  • 2   tablespoons butter
  • 1   small onion, diced
  • 8   cups cooked cut green beans
  • 1  10 3/4 ounce can condensed cream of onion soup
  • 1 1/2  cups shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1/2  cup half-and-half
  • 1/2  cup sour cream
  • 1   teaspoon salt
  • 1   teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1  2.8 ounce can French-fried onions

How to Make Green Bean Casserole

Sprinkled french fried onions add a gorgeous finishing touch to this class green bean casserole dish.

Directions
1. 
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Generously butter a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish.

In a large skillet, melt butter over medium-high heat. Add onion and cook until tender. Remove from heat and set aside to cool.
3. 
In a large bowl, combine green beans, soup, cheese, half-and-half, sour cream, salt, pepper, and reserved cooked onion. Stir to combine. Spoon mixture into prepared baking dish.
4. 
Bake until bubbly, approximately 25 minutes. Remove from oven and arrange French-fried onions on top. Return to oven and bake for 5 minutes.
