know, old little like whisky attachment for this when you're making the dough . So we're gonna put this on...medium. And we are going to add in the water and then mix. Just keep on-- keep on keeping on, and when you're working with a dough , see at the bottom like how my flour has settled? So, the bottom's nice and floured but the top's kind of sticky,
come right back. Okay, so it's been 5 minutes. We've let our dough rest. It's very tired, it has a lot of work to do, and now, we are going to start kneading the dough , and you will need--lots of food puns today--some extra flour and some extra water as needed to knead, and also I'm gonna do this by hand because I just think it's so fun. Does anyone else remember the Curious George book where he's like tossing the dough ? Do you remember that? I do and so ever since them, I've been fascinated with making dough , so I'm gonna do it by hand today. And because of that, I'm going to lightly flour my work surface here. You could, if you have one of those like stand mixers, or you can do it with the hand mixer but it's just-- it just takes like 2 to 3 minutes and it's just such a fun thing to do. For kids of all ages. Okay. So, I'm gonna toss this over and that's not what I want the final, you know, product to look like. What we want it to be is like a nice ball of dough that's a little bit sticky, but more like a post-it note, like if we put our finger on, it would pull off
aside. Now, you want a bowl that's twice the size of the dough , and you want it to be oiled, so I've lightly oiled it. I've just, you know, put some olive oil in here.

on to a lightly floured surface, that's because you don't want the dough to stick so I'm just gonna add some flour on here. Okay. Now, let's get our dough ...right here. We're gonna make it into a nice little dough ball. First, just kinda squish it together, and then we're just going to fold and then knead down and we're gonna do that like 10 to 12 times until it's smooth. Now, don't worry about having a lot of flour on your surface. The dough won't absorb more flour that it can take, so, you're good to go. So now we wanna roll it out until it's like a half-inch thick, so kinda like you're making pizza dough . This is a very similar thing. So, now, we are going to use our little biscuit cutter here. This is a 2-1/2-inch size and just like we're making cookies, we're just going to pop those in, ta-da, and we are going to line them up on this lightly greased baking sheet about an inch apart from each other, and this is gonna make between 10 to 12, and when we've got these all cut out, we'll be right back and pop them in the oven. Now, as you'll see, I do have some remaining dough but unlike cookies or something else, I can't just form this into a ball, push it out again, and try to make

covered in a warm place for about an hour to let that dough rise until it doubles in size. So, our French bread dough has been resting for an hour. And as you can see, that has risen, doubled in size, so that is looking good now. What we're gonna do is we just wanna punch it down like that. It should be nice and airy. Perfect. Alright. And then on a lightly floured surface, which we'll do right now, we're gonna take out the dough . Put it down on here. That is looking good, good consistency as you want. And all we're gonna do actually is just
with our cornflour like so and we'll set that aside. So, our dough has been resting for about 10 minutes. They've risen again, which is fantastic. Now, let's just get one of them and we
And using our baste brush, we're just gonna put that over our dough . So, we're gonna do exactly the same thing with our other half of dough . So, we've rolled out both of our halves of French bread now. So, we're gonna leave that now for about 35 to
