  • 1  box
    chocolate cake mix, batter prepared as directed on the box

  • 2  16-ounce cans
    white frosting

  •  
    Orange food coloring paste

  • 24 
    ice cream cones, flat bottomed

    Green taffy-type candy for decoration

Directions
1.
Fill each ice cream cone 1/3 full with cake batter. Carefully place cones in the wells of two muffin pans. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until done. Cool cones on wire rack.
2.
While cupcakes are baking, create the leaves and stems by molding the green taffy candy into leaf shapes with your fingers. The warmth from your hands will make the taffy moldable.
3.
Spread each cupcake top with a rounded mound of frosting. Using a skewer, draw lines down the sides of the frosting to mimic the lines of a pumpkin. Finally, decorated with the taffy stems and leaves.

A Tip from Paula:
If using flat-bottomed cones, cover your muffin tins with foil and pierce a hole in each well. Place one cone into the pierced holes for wonderful stability when baking!
