Ingredients
3 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon caraway seed
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
1 8-ounce carton plain yogurt
1/2 cup milk
1/3 cup margarine or butter, melted
1-1/2 cups shredded Swiss or fontina cheese (6 ounces)
1/4 teaspoon caraway seed

Directions
1. In a large mixing bowl stir together flour, baking powder, the 1 teaspoon caraway seed, the baking soda, and salt. In another mixing bowl beat eggs slightly; stir in yogurt, milk, and melted margarine or butter. Add to flour mixture along with cheese. Stir just until moistened. (Batter will be thick.) Turn into a greased and floured 9x5x3-inch loaf pan. Sprinkle with the 1/4 teaspoon caraway seed.
2. Bake in a 350 degree F oven for 1 to 1-1/4 hours or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes in the pan on a wire rack. Remove from pan. Cool on the wire rack for at least 1 hour. Serve warm or cool. Makes 1 loaf (18 servings).
Swiss Caraway Biscuits
Drop dough from a well-rounded tablespoon onto greased baking sheets. (Do not sprinkle with additional caraway seed.) Bake in a 450 degree F oven about 12 minutes or until golden. Makes 18 to 20 biscuits.
