  • 6  slices  (about 3/4 inch thick) Italian country bread or crusty sourdough breadOn Sale
  • 1/2  cup  chocolate hazelnut spread*On Sale
  • 3  tablespoons  chopped hazelnutsOn Sale
  • 3  tablespoons  brown sugarOn Sale
  • 3    medium bananas, thinly bias-slicedOn Sale
  • 2  tablespoons  butter or margarine, meltedOn Sale
  •     Unsweetened cocoa powder (optional)On Sale
  •     Chocolate curls (optional)On Sale
  •     White chocolate curls (optional)On Sale

Directions
1.
Toast bread and let cool; spread with chocolate hazelnut spread. In a mixing bowl combine nuts and sugar; set aside. Layer banana slices on top of spread. Brush banana with melted butter or margarine. Top with 1 tablespoon nut mixture.

Broil bruschetta 5 inches from heat for 30 seconds or until the bananas just begin to glaze and nuts are toasted. Garnish plate with sifted cocoa powder, chocolate curls, and white chocolate curls, if desired. Makes 6 servings.

Note
Chocolate hazelnut spread can be purchased in specialty food stores or large supermarkets.
