Sugared Pecans

Ingredients

1 1/4 cups sugar

6 tablespoons half-and-half

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

3 cups pecan halves
Directions
1.
Combine first 5 ingredients in a heavy saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat on stovetop, stirring constantly.

Cook, stirring occasionally, until candy thermometer registers 236 degrees F (soft-ball stage). Remove from heat.

Add vanilla; stir. Add pecans, stirring to coat. Pour pecans onto waxed paper, gently separating with a spoon. Cool completely. Store at room temperature in airtight containers.
