Stripey Strawberry Shake
The rich strawberry syrup that flavors the milk isn't mixed into the drink, making for a pretty presentation that kids will love.

2 cups syrup
Ingredients

1 lb. strawberries, hulled and chopped (about 3 cups)

2/3 cup granulated sugar

4 tsp. cornstarch

2 Tbsp. water

Cold milk or chocolate-flavored milk

Vanilla ice cream
Directions

For syrup, in blender container combine strawberries and sugar. Cover; blend until smooth. Strain through sieve to remove seeds; place in saucepan. Combine cornstarch and water; whisk into strawberry mixture. Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly. Cook and stir 2 minutes longer. Remove from pan; cool. Makes 2 cups syrup.*

To make Stripey Shakes, pour a teaspoon of syrup down sides of glass, using 2 tablespoons total syrup for each glass. Fill glass with cold milk; top with scoops of ice cream.
