  • 1  lb.  strawberries, hulled and chopped (about 3 cups)On Sale
  • 2/3  cup  granulated sugarOn Sale

  •     Cold milk or chocolate-flavored milkOn Sale
  •     Vanilla ice creamOn Sale

Directions

For syrup, in blender container combine strawberries and sugar. Cover; blend until smooth. Strain through sieve to remove seeds; place in saucepan. Combine cornstarch and water; whisk into strawberry mixture. Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly. Cook and stir 2 minutes longer. Remove from pan; cool. Makes 2 cups syrup.*

To make Stripey Shakes, pour a teaspoon of syrup down sides of glass, using 2 tablespoons total syrup for each glass. Fill glass with cold milk; top with scoops of ice cream.

*Test Kitchen Tip: Store remaining syrup in airtight container in refrigerator up to 2 weeks.
