Spooky Spread
From: Midwest LivingThis bright orange chunky cheese spread is made with apples, nuts, carrots, green onions, and currants. Serve it as an appetizer with crackers or mini bagels.

Ingredients

cups
shredded sharp cheddar cheese (8 ounces)
1
3-ounce package
cream cheese
1/2
cup
dairy sour cream
1
teaspoon
lemon juice
1
teaspoon
Worcestershire sauce
1
cup
finely chopped apple (such as Delicious, Gala or Braeburn)
1/2
cup
finely shredded carrot
1/2
cup
chopped pecans or walnuts, toasted
2
green onions, finely chopped (1/4 cup)
2
tablespoons
dried currants or chopped raisins
Party rye bread, melba toast rounds, crackers and/or mini bagels, halved
Directions

Allow cheddar cheese and cream cheese to stand at room temperature for 30 minutes.

In a large mixing bowl, beat cheddar cheese and cream cheese on medium to high speed for 30 seconds. Add sour cream, lemon juice and Worcestershire sauce. Beat on medium speed till nearly smooth, scraping sides of bowl. Fold in apple, carrot, pecans, onions and currants. Cover and chill for 4 to 24 hours.

Stir before serving. Serve with rye bread, toast rounds, crackers and/or mini bagels. Makes 3 cups spread.
