Speedy Pasta Sauce
When dinner poses a challenge, turn to this easy sauce recipe. Just add tomato, bacon, and peas to your favorite cooked pasta to make a meal in less than 30 minutes.

Ingredients

6 slices bacon, cut into pieces

1 can (28 ounces) tomatoes in juice

1 teaspoon sugar

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon salt
-
1 cup frozen peas, thawed

1/4 cup sour cream
-
12 ounces of your favorite pasta, cooked
Directions

Cook bacon in a medium-size saucepan over medium heat for 8 minutes, until cooked through but not crispy. Drain on paper towels and discard drippings, but do not wipe out pan.

Increase heat to medium-high and add tomatoes and their juice, breaking apart tomatoes with your hands while adding. Stir in sugar, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, pepper and salt. Cook 5 minutes (simmering vigorously), stirring every so often.
3.
Remove pan from heat and add peas, sour cream and drained bacon. Serve over cooked pasta.
