Spaghetti and Meatballs

Ingredients
Meatballs:
6 ounces Italian turkey sausage
6 ounces extra-lean ground beef
2 tablespoons grated onion
2 cloves garlic, chopped fine
1 egg white
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup plain breadcrumbs
1/2 cup Italian parsley, chopped fine
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Sauce:
1 teaspoon olive oil
3/4 cup chopped onion
2 cloves garlic, chopped
2 cans (14-1/2 ounces each) no-salt-added whole tomatoes
1 can (16 ounces) tomato puree
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
3/4 pound spaghetti
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
Directions
1. Heat oven to 375 F.
2. Meatballs: Remove turkey sausage from casings and place in a large bowl. Add beef, onion, garlic, egg white, Parmesan, breadcrumbs, parsley, salt and pepper. Mix together, then shape into 24, 1-inch meatballs.
3. Line a baking pan with foil; add a rack and coat with nonstick cooking spray. Place meatballs on rack; bake at 375 F for 20 minutes.
4. Sauce: Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add onion; cook for 5 minutes. Add garlic; cook 1 minute.
5. Stir in tomatoes with their juice, puree, oregano, basil, sugar, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 20 minutes. Add meatballs; simmer 10 minutes.
6. Cook spaghetti following package directions. Drain and transfer to a bowl. Top with meatballs and sauce. Sprinkle with Parmesan and serve.
