1 cupKellogg's® Smart Start® Strong Heart Toasted Oat cereal, coarsely crushedsee savings

1 cupdried fruit, such as cranberries, snipped apricots, and blueberriessee savings

1/3 cuptoasted wheat germsee savings

1/4 cupwhole wheat floursee savings

1/4 cuppacked brown sugarsee savings

-
1/2 teaspoonapple pie spice or cinnamonsee savings

-
1/8 teaspoonsaltsee savings

1 cupregular rolled oatssee savings

3/4 cupcoarsely chopped nuts and seeds, such as pecans, sunflower kernels, and pumpkin seedssee savings

4egg whites, lightly beatensee savings

1/2 cuphoneysee savings

1/3 cupcanola oilsee savings

1 teaspoonvanillasee savings

Directions

In a large bowl combine KELLOGG'S SMART START cereal, fruit, wheat germ, flour, brown sugar, spice, and salt; set aside. Place rolled oats in a 13x9x2-inch baking pan; bake at 350 degrees F for 5 minutes. Add nuts and seeds. Bake 5 minutes more or until lightly toasted; cool. Add nut mixture to cereal mixture.

In a bowl combine egg whites, honey, oil, and vanilla. Add egg white mixture to cereal mixture; stir until moistened.

Spread cereal mixture evenly into a 13x9x2-inch baking pan lined with foil that has been lightly coated with cooking spray. Bake at 325 degrees F for 25 to 30 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool in pan on a wire rack. Use the foil to lift bars from pan. Cut into rectangular bars. Wrap bars in plastic wrap and store at room temperature up to 5 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
