Simple Beef Stew

Packaged beef steak with gravy is the base for this quick dinner. Just add sweet peppers, salsa and cumin, then serve with noodles.

  • 1 red pepper, cut into chunks
  • 1 yellow pepper, cut into chunks
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 package (17 ounces) beef steak with gravy
  • 1/2 cup mild salsa
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 4 cups (8 ounces) wide egg noodles
  • 2 teaspoons butter
  • Cilantro, chopped
  • Salad greens

How to Make Old Fashioned Beef Stew

This hearty dish is bound to warm you up on a cold winter's day. If you are short on time you can easily make this old-fashioned beef stew in a slow cooker.

In a large skillet, cook peppers in hot oil over medium heat for 5 to 7 minutes or just until tender. Stir in beef steak with gravy, salsa, and cumin. Bring to a boil; reduce heat. Simmer, uncovered, for 2 minutes, breaking up beef into small pieces.
Meanwhile, cook noodles according to package directions. Drain well and mix in butter to melt. Serve beef mixture over noodles. Sprinkle with cilantro and serve with salad.
