Shredded BBQ Chicken Sandwiches

It takes just 35 minutes to make these tasty sandwiches, filled with a down-home mixture of shredded chicken and barbecue sauce - they just taste like you've been cooking all day.

Ingredients
  • 2  16  ounce jars 
    Pace® Chunky Salsa
  • 1   tablespoon 
    apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4  cup 
    packed brown sugar
  • 1/2  teaspoon 
    garlic powder
  • 1/4  teaspoon 
    chili powder
  • 4   
    skinless, boneless chicken breast halves (about 1 pound)
  • 1  13  ounce package 
    Pepperidge Farm® Classic Sandwich Buns with Sesame Seeds
  •  
    Shredded Cheddar cheese
Directions
1.
Heat the salsa, vinegar, brown sugar, garlic powder and chili powder in a 3-quart saucepan over medium-high heat to a boil.
2.
Add the chicken to the saucepan. Reduce the heat to low. Cover and cook for 20 minutes or until the chicken is fork-tender.
3.
Remove the chicken from the saucepan to a cutting board. Using 2 forks, shred the chicken. Return the chicken to the saucepan and cook until the mixture is hot and bubbling. Serve the chicken mixture on the buns. Sprinkle with the cheese.
