Sausage Jambalaya

If you like your Cajun dishes extra spicy, increase the red pepper or the chili powder.

1/4 poundfully cooked smoked turkey sausagesee savings

3/4 cupchopped onionsee savings

1 cupchopped green or sweet red peppersee savings

-
1 cupsliced fresh mushroomssee savings

1clove garlic, mincedsee savings

-
1 teaspoonchili powdersee savings

-
1/4 teaspoonground red peppersee savings

-
2-1/4 cupswatersee savings

-
1 14-1/2-ouncecan tomatoes, cut upsee savings

-
2 cupscubed cooked porksee savings

-
1 9-ouncepackage frozen cut okrasee savings

-
1 cuplong grain ricesee savings

-
1 tablespooninstant chicken bouillon granulessee savings

Directions
1.
Halve turkey sausage lengthwise and cut into 1/4-inch slices.
2.
In a 12-inch skillet cook sausage, onion, green pepper, mushrooms, and garlic until onion is tender.
3.
Stir in chili powder, ground red pepper, and 1/4 teaspoon pepper. Cook and stir for 1 minute.
4.
Stir in water, undrained tomatoes, pork, okra, uncooked rice, and bouillon granules. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes or until rice is tender. Makes 6 servings.
