    French bread cubes (1/2- to 3/4-inch cubes)

    chopped green sweet pepper

    shredded sharp cheddar cheese (1-1/2 cups)

    shredded Monterey Jack cheese (1 cup)

    milk

    snipped chives

    snipped fresh oregano or 1 teaspoon dried oregano, crushed

Directions
1.
Divide half of the bread cubes between 2 greased 2-quart rectangular baking dishes. Top with sausage, mushrooms, and sweet pepper. Sprinkle with cheeses. Place remaining bread cubes on top.

Combine eggs, milk, chives, oregano, salt, and pepper in a large mixing bowl. Pour half of the mixture over bread mixture in each baking dish. Cover and refrigerate for 2 to 24 hours.

Bake in a 325 degree F oven, uncovered, for 40 to 45 minutes or until a knife inserted near centers comes out clean. Let stand 10 minutes before serving. Makes 12 servings.
