How to Bake Tilapia

Hey, everyone. I'm Judith with Recipe.com. And today, I'm gonna be showing you how to make baked tilapia, a really nice, light and healthy dinner or lunch. So the recipe actually calls for 4 tilapia fillets. This time, I'm gonna be using two, so all our other ingredients as well will be halved. So first of all, we've got here 2 tilapia fillets, 2 lemon wedges, 1-1/2 tablespoons of olive oil, a pinch of dried basil, a dash of pepper, a dash of salt, 1 tablespoon of Dijon mustard, and 2 tablespoons of grated parmesan cheese. Now, we have our baking dish here and we've lightly [unk] that with cooking oil. So, first thing's first. We're gonna get our Ziploc bag. Now, we're gonna open that up and we're gonna be putting in our Ritz Crackers. This is the really fun part. We'll put in our dried basil. Our salt and pepper goes in there, too. So, let's get our air out of this bag and we're basically gonna crush these crackers down. So, you have fun with this and [unk] it all out. There we go. All right. So once that is all into nice small pieces we're gonna add in our olive oil and we're gonna add in our cheese. We're gonna give that a good shake. So all of those ingredients are combined. Great. So once that is done we're gonna get our tilapia. We're gonna place them on our baking dish like so. We'll get our little baster brush, and we're gonna get our Dijon mustard and we're gonna be spreading that over our tilapia. Very nice. Tilapia is a really healthy fish to cook with. It's low in calories, low in sodium, low in fat and tastes great, too. So we'll get all of our Dijon mustard smothered on our tilapia like so. And now, we're gonna add on top our cracker mixture. So we can just use our fingers, put that on top and that's gonna just be a lovely, crunchy flavorful coating for our subtle fish. Now, I have preheated my oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. So as this is prepared now, we're gonna pop it in the oven. Fold it. We're gonna be putting that in the oven for 15 minutes. So we brought our tilapia fillets outside of the oven and they look just gorgeous, brown, golden, crispy and ready to eat. It's really simple, really fresh and very healthy.   • 1/4  cup grated Parmesan cheese

Heat oven to 425 degree F. Spray a baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray.

Crush crackers in a plastic bag. Add cheese, oil and basil. Shake to combine.

Place tilapia on prepared baking sheet. Brush top side of each piece with about

1/2 tablespoon of the mustard and season with the salt and pepper. Press the cracker mixture onto the mustard-coated side of the fillets.

Bake at 425 degree F for 15 minutes or until fish flakes easily with a fork. Serve with lemon wedges and tartar sauce, if desired.
