Portuguese-Style Steamed Clams

1/2 lb.chorizo, pepperoni or Italian pork sausage , dicedsee savings

1/2 lb.bacon, dicedsee savings

4dozen small clamssee savings

3 clovesgarlic, choppedsee savings

1 tsp.crushed red peppersee savings

1 3/4 cupsSwanson® Chicken Brothsee savings

3/4 cupdry white winesee savings

1 can(28 ounces) diced tomatoessee savings

1/2 cupchopped fresh cilantro or parsleysee savings

1loaf Italian bread, slicedsee savings

Directions
1.
Cook the chorizo and bacon in an 8-quart saucepot over medium-high heat until they're well browned, stirring often. Pour off any fat.
2.
Add the garlic and red pepper to the saucepot and cook and stir for 3 minutes. Stir in the broth, wine and tomatoes and heat to a boil. Add the clams. Cover and cook until the the clams open, stirring often. Discard any clams that do not open. Sprinkle with the cilantro. Serve with the bread.
Tip:
This recipe serves 6 as an appetizer.
