Portuguese Sausage Soup

Ingredients
4 ounces hot Italian sausage links, sliced 1/4 inch thick
4 ounces sweet Italian sausage links, sliced 1/4 inch thick
1/2 cup chopped onion
2 medium potatoes, peeled and sliced
2 14-ounce cans chicken broth or vegetable broth
1 10-ounce package frozen chopped spinach
1/2 cup beer or water
1/4 teaspoon pepper
Directions
1. In a large saucepan cook the hot sausage, sweet sausage, and onion until sausage is browned and onion is tender. Drain fat. Add the potatoes, the chicken or vegetable broth, spinach, beer or water, and pepper. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Cover and simmer about 20 minutes or until potatoes are tender. Makes 6 side-dish servings.
