Port-Sauced Pears

Ingredients

1/2 cupport winesee savings

1 tablespoonsugarsee savings

2 inchesstick cinnamon, brokensee savings

1 teaspoonlemon juicesee savings

2 mediumpears, peeled, cored, and cut lengthwise into six wedgessee savings

2 cupsvanilla lowfat frozen yogurtsee savings

Directions

In medium skillet, combine wine, sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Bring to boiling, stirring to dissolve sugar; reduce heat. Simmer, uncovered, about 7 minutes or until mixture is reduced by half. Discard cinnamon.

Add pear wedges to wine mixture in skillet. Cook for 6 to 8 minutes more or until pear is tender, turning occasionally. Remove from heat.

Cool pear mixture to room temperature. Serve pear wedges with frozen yogurt, drizzling wine mixture over yogurt. Makes 4 servings.
