  • 1/4  cup
    butter

    rum, brandy, desired-flavor liqueur or apple juice

Directions
1.
In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat; stir in sugar until well combined. Add pears; cook and gently stir over medium heat for 3 to 5 minutes or until pears are tender. Turn heat down if mixture begins to boil rapidly. Stir in rum. Spoon warm pear sauce over ice cream. Serve immediately. Makes 6 servings.
