  • 3    medium baking potatoes (1 lb.), such as russet, round white, or yellow, peeled and cut into eighthsOn Sale
  • 1    medium onion, cut into thin wedgesOn Sale
  • 1/4  cup  waterOn Sale
  • 3  tablespoons  olive oil or cooking oilOn Sale
  • 1  tablespoon  snipped fresh sage or 1/2 tsp. ground sageOn Sale
  • 1/2  teaspoon  saltOn Sale
  • 1/8  to 1/4 teaspoon  pepperOn Sale
  • 2  to 4 tablespoons  buttermilk, dairy sour cream, plain yogurt, or milkOn Sale

Directions
1.
In a greased 2-quart casserole combine potatoes and onion. In a 1-cup measure combine water, oil, sage, salt,and pepper; drizzle over potatoes and onion.

Roast, uncovered, in a 450 degree F oven for 40 to 50 minutes or until vegetables are tender and golden,stirring twice.
3.
Mash with a potato masher. Gradually mash in enough buttermilk, sour cream, yogurt, or milk to make the potatoes light and fluffy. Makes 5 side-dish servings.
