Midwest Baked Beans

Use your favorite bottled barbecue sauce for this stir-together baked beans side dish.

Ingredients

2 16-ounce canspork and beans in tomato saucesee savings

3/4 cupbarbecue saucesee savings

-
1/2 cuppacked brown sugarsee savings

-
2 mediumtart apples, peeled, cored, and chopped (about 2 cups)see savings

1 mediumonion, chopped (1/2 cup)see savings

-
3 slicesbacon, crisp-cooked, drained and crumbledsee savings

Directions
1.
In a 1-1/2-quart casserole combine the pork and beans, barbecue sauce, brown sugar, apple, and onion.
2.
Bake the bean mixture in the casserole, uncovered, in a 350 degree F oven for 60 to 70 minutes or until the casserole is bubbly and of desired consistency, stirring once or twice. Top with crumbled bacon. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
