Lemonade Syrup

Ingredients
  • 1 cup  fresh mint leavesOn Sale
  • 2 12-1/22 cups  waterOn Sale
  • 2 cups  sugarOn Sale
  • 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons  lemon juice (juice of 6 lemons)On Sale
  • 4 tsp.  finely shredded orange peelOn Sale
  • 2/3 cup  orange juice (juice of 2 oranges)On Sale
  •   Ice cubesOn Sale
  •   WaterOn Sale

Place mint leaves in a large pitcher; set aside. In a small saucepan, heat and stir the 2-1/2 cups water and the sugar over medium heat until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat; pour over mint leaves. Stir in lemon juice, orange peel, and orange juice. Cool for 1 hour. Pour into a large jar. Cover and chill in the refrigerator for at least 8 hours or up to 3 days, removing the mint leaves after 8 hours.

For each serving, fill a 12-ounce glass with ice cubes. Combine 3/4 cup water and 1/2 cup of the lemon juice mixture; pour over ice in glass. Makes 10 (12-ounce) servings.
