    garbanzo beans (chickpeas), rinsed and drained

Directions
1.
1. In a large skillet cook onion, sweet pepper, and garlic in hot oil over medium heat 5 minutes or until tender. Stir in oregano, cumin, coriander, turmeric, bayleaf, cinnamon stick, and 1.8 teaspoon salt. Cook and stir 1 minute. Add okra,undrained tomatoes, beans, chorizo, and olives. Bring to boiling; reduce heat.Simmer, covered, 30 minutes; stir occasionally. Remove and discard bay leafand cinnamon stick. Serve over rice. Makes 6 servings.
