Directions
1.
Cut pound cake crosswise into seven slices. Using a 1-inch round cookie or biscuit cutter, cut 3 circles out of each slice. Line a baking sheet with wax paper. Place 1/4 cup frosting in a zip-top bag and snip off a tiny bit of a corner. Divide remainder of frosting between 2 small bowls. Tint one bowl rose and the other pale pink using icing colors. Microwave one bowl at a time for 10 to 15 seconds, until frosting is slightly melted and the consistency of heavy cream.
2.
2. Using a fork, dip a circle of cake into warm rose-colored frosting, coating top and sides. Let excess frosting drip back into bowl. Using another fork, slide frosted cake onto wax paper. Decorate 10 more with rose-colored frosting. Scatter tops of 4 with sprinkles. Using frosting in plastic bag, pipe out the word "sweetie" onto 7 of the decorated circles. Decorate 10 more cakes with pale-pink frosting. (Reheat frostings if necessary.) Place cakes with the word "sweetie" among the other decorated cakes on a serving platter.
