Ingredients
1 3-ounce can chow mein noodles
1 cup cornflakes
1/2 cup raisins and/or dried cherries
1 12-ounce package peanut butter-flavored pieces
Directions
1. In a large bowl, stir together the chow mein noodles, cornflakes, and raisins; set aside.
2. Place the peanut butter-flavored pieces in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave, uncovered, on 100 percent power (high) for 45 seconds. Stir until smooth. If necessary, microwave for 15 to 45 seconds more, stirring after every 15 seconds. (Or, put the peanut butter pieces in a medium saucepan. Heat and stir over low heat until the pieces are melted.)
3. Pour the melted peanut butter mixture over the noodle mixture. Quickly stir the mixture until all of the mixture is coated.
4. Working quickly, drop the cereal mixture from teaspoons onto a cookie sheet lined with waxed paper. Let stand about 1 hour or until set (or freeze for 5 minutes). Makes 15 snacks.
5. To store: Place cookies in layers separated by waxed paper in an airtight container; cover. Refrigerate for up to 5 days. Do not freeze.
