Grilled Vidalia Onion Steaks with a Honey Dressing

Ingredients

1/4 cupolive oilsee savings

-
2 tablespoonsbutter, meltedsee savings

-
2 largesweet Vidalia onions, peeled, cut horizontally into 1/2-inch-thick slicessee savings

-
Kosher saltsee savings

-
Black peppersee savings

Honey Dressing:
-
1/2 cupvegetable oilsee savings

-
1/2 cuphoneysee savings

-
1/4 cupapple cider vinegarsee savings

-
1/2 teaspoonWorcestershire saucesee savings

-
1/2 teaspoonthymesee savings

Directions
1.
Heat grill until it's medium-hot.
2.
In a small mixing bowl, whisk oil and butter. In another small mixing bowl, whisk together honey dressing ingredients.
3.
Prepare onion slices by running 2 metal skewers (or pre-soaked bamboo skewers) parallel through each slice about 1 1/2 - 2-inches apart.
4.
Brush both sides of onion slices with oil mixture and place on grill. Cook until beginning to char, turning and brushing often with oil mixture, about 10-12 minutes.
5.
Brush top side of the onions with the honey dressing and cook until mixture begins to bubble.
6.
Turn onions and brush other side with honey dressing and grill until beginning to caramelize, about a minute. Remove from grill.
7.
To serve, transfer to a plate and carefully remove skewers. Drizzle with remaining honey dressing. Serve warm.
