Green Beans with Limes

Simply sauteed green beans get a zing of fresh flavor with a bit of lime peel and juice. For crunch, add 14 cup sliced almonds the last 5 minutes of cooking. Stir often to toast evenly.

Sprinkled french fried onions add a gorgeous finishing touch to this class green bean casserole dish.

In a large skillet cook green beans in hot oil over medium heat for 18 to 20 minutes until crisp-tender and lightlybrowned, using a spatula to gently lift beans occasionally to prevent them from sticking. Meanwhile, shred 1 teaspoon of lime peel. Cut lime in half. Add lime peel to beans. Cook and stir for 1 minute more.
Lightly season beans with salt, drizzle with lime juice, and serve immediately. Makes 4 (1/2-cup) servings.
