Cut-Out Sugar Cookies

Here's a basic sugar cookie recipe that is delicious enough to be eaten year-round, or you can roll it out and make shapes for any holiday.

    all-purpose flour

    unsalted butter

    large egg yolks

    vanilla extract

Directions
1.
Combine flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl; set aside. In mixer bowl, beat butter and sugar until fluffy, 3 minutes. Beat in yolks and vanilla. Add flour mixture and combine. Wrap dough in plastic wrap, chill 1 hour.

Roll dough to 3/8 inch thick on a floured surface. Cut as desired. (Dough scraps can be re-rolled up to 2 times.) Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. Cookies can be stored airtight for up to 5 days. Makes 36 two-inch cookies.
