Cranberry Pear Relish

A fruity relish that can be served as an accompaniment to endless dishes and stored up to a month.

see savings1 poundfirm Bosc of Anjou pears (about 3 medium) peeled, cored and roughly chopped
In a medium saucepan combine the cranberries, sugar, water, ginger, cinnamon stick and cloves. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring to dissolve the sugar. Cook until cranberries begin to pop, about 6 to 8 minutes. Lower heat to simmer and add chopped pears. Continue to cook, stirring occasionally, until thickened, about 10 minutes.
Remove from heat and cool. Store, tightly covered, in refrigerator up to 1 month. Remove cinnamon stick before serving.
