How to Make Seven Layer Salad

Learn how to make the king of all salads: the Seven Layer Salad. This Midwestern classic gets a makeover and is laced with a delicious, tangy dressing.

Place potatoes in a large pot and cover with cold water. Cook until tender. Drain, peel and cut into chunks once cooled. Place the potatoes in a large bowl and cover to keep warm.
Cook the bacon in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once crisp, place bacon on a paper towel-lined plate and crumble. Pour off the rendered fat, reserving 1/4 cup in the pan.
Whisk in the vinegar and sugar and stir until thick and bubbly. Add the cubed, cooked potatoes and green onions, toss to coat. Top with crumbled bacon. Serve warm.
