Classic Dry Martini
A martini typically contains gin and vermouth. When vodka is used in place of gin, the cocktail becomes a vodka martini.

Ingredients

Ice cubes

8 ounces gin or vodka (1 cup)

1 ounce dry vermouth (2 tablespoons)

Pimiento-stuffed olives or lemon peel twists (optional)
Directions

Place ice cubes in a martini shaker. Add vodka and vermouth; shake. Strain into four chilled martini glasses. If desired, skewer olives or lemon twists on cocktail picks and place in drinks.
