  • 1/2  cup  firmly packed brown sugarOn Sale
  • 1/2  teaspoon  baking sodaOn Sale
  • 1/4  teaspoon  saltOn Sale
  • 1/3  cup  unsalted butter, meltedOn Sale
  • 1  large  egg, lightly beatenOn Sale
  • 1/2  cup  chopped walnutsOn Sale

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly spray an 8-x-8-inch baking pan with nonstick cooking spray; set aside.

In a small saucepan, combine dates and water. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes, or until thickened. Set aside.

In the work bowl of a food processor, pulse Krispy Kreme Cinnamon Twist Doughnut pieces until mixture looks like bread crumbs. Transfer crumbs to a bowl and add oats, brown sugar, soda, salt, butter, egg, and walnuts; stir to combine.

Pat half of crumb mixture into bottom of prepared pan. Carefully spread date mixture on top. Gently pat remaining crumb mixture over date mixture.
5.
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until lightly browned. Cool and cut into bars.
