  • 1/2  cup 
  • 2   teaspoons 
    baking powder
  • 1   teaspoon 
    baking soda
  • 1   teaspoon 
    ground cinnamon
  • 1/4  teaspoon 
  • 1/2  cup 
  • 2/3  cup 
  • 1   cup 
    plus 2 tablespoons milk, divided
  • 1   cup 
    powdered sugar
Preheat oven to 450 degrees .
In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Cut in shortening with a pastry blender until mixture is crumbly. Stir in raisins and 1 cup milk, stirring until dry ingredients are moistened.
Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface; knead 3 or 4 times.
Roll dough to 3/4-inch thickness, cut with a 3-inch biscuit cutter, and place on a lightly greased baking sheet.
Bake for 12 minutes.
In a small bowl, combine powdered sugar and 2 tablespoons milk. Drizzle over hot biscuits.
