Cherry-Oatmeal Bars

Ingredients

2 cups uncooked quick-cooking oats

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup firmly packed brown sugar

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 cup butter, melted

1 (6-ounce) package dried cherries
-
1/2 cup slivered almonds
-
1/2 cup flaked coconut
-
1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
Directions
1.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Combine first 6 ingredients in a large bowl. Add melted butter and stir until mixture is crumbly. Reserve 1 1/2 cups crumb mixture. Press remaining mixture into a greased 9 x 13-inch baking pan. Bake for 10 minutes.

Sprinkle cherries, almonds, and coconut evenly over baked layer.
4.
Pour condensed milk evenly over coconut.
5.
Sprinkle reserved crumb mixture evenly over condensed milk.
6.
Bake for 28 minutes, or until golden brown. Cool in pan on a wire rack. Cut into bars. Store at room temperature in airtight containers.
