Bread-and-Cheddar Appetizer
For a quick snack or appetizer, serve hot wedges of this cheese bread with juicy apple slices.

Ingredients
-
1 small round loaf of bread (about 8 inches in diameter)
-
1 tablespoon Dijon-style mustard
-
1/2 of a 5-ounce jar processed sharp cheddar cheese spread (1/4 cup)
-
1 teaspoon grated Parmesan cheese
-
1 apple, cored and sliced
-
Fresh herbs (optional)
-
Small fresh chili peppers (optional)
Directions
1.
Cut loaf of bread in half horizontally. Wrap one half and use for another purpose. Hollow out the other half, leaving a 1/2-inch shell. Spread mustard over inside of bread shell. Spread cheese in the bottom of the bread shell. Sprinkle the cheese spread with Parmesan cheese.
2.
Place on a baking sheet and bake in a 400 degree F oven for about 15 minutes or until the cheese begins to bubble. Cut the appetizer into 12 wedges.
3.
Place hot bread on a serving plate. Arrange apple slices around the bread. Garnish with fresh herbs and/or small chili peppers, if you like. Makes 12 servings.
