Braised Red Cabbage

Ingredients

1 cupchopped onionsee savings

-
2 cupspeeled, cored, chopped applesee savings

-
4 tablespoonsbuttersee savings

-
1 largehead red cabbage, cored, shreddedsee savings

-
3 cupsred winesee savings

-
1/2 cupraspberry vinegarsee savings

-
1 teaspoonsnipped chivessee savings

Directions
1.
In food processor, combine onion and apple; pulse until smooth.
2.
Melt butter over medium heat in large pot. Add the onion apple mixture and cook for 4-5 minutes, being careful not to let it brown.
3.
Add cabbage and wine to pot; stir to blend. Cover and simmer over medium-low heat until wine is reduced and cabbage is tender. Add vinegar and simmer until liquid is reduced to syrup-like consistency.
4.
Place in a serving bowl and garnish with chives.
