Wine Milkshakes & Other Boozy Treats — Cheers!

The kids may be heading back to school, but summer’s still cookin’. And while the young’uns are fine with a popsicle, grown-ups are opting for sweet frozen treats with a lot more kick.

Traditionally kid-centric summer staples like snow cones, milkshakes, and ice cream sandwiches are getting the booze treatment, reports USA Today. Wine shake? Beer pop? Cheers!

Diners at the Cheesecake Factory can order from the menu’s “Spiked Shakes” section, which includes the Twisted Salted Caramel Pretzel (Absolut Vodka, Licor 43, caramel, pretzels and ice cream) or maybe a Flying Gorilla (a “kicked-up” chocolate-banana milkshake with Godiva chocolate and banana liqueur).

Oh, come on. You know you wanna.

USA Today also points to a growing popularity in wine shakes — yes, wine shakes — often ordered at burger chain The Counter, as well as ice cream sandwiches spiked with Jack Daniel’s sold from select Coolhaus trucks (to adults only, of course), beer pops available at City Tavern in Culver City, Calif., and snow cones imbued with a shot of alcohol sold at various places including Houston’s Hotel ZaZa.

“Adults enjoying sweet drinks is as old as Martha Washington’s rum punch,” the American Beverage Institute’s Sarah Longwell tells USA Today.

Betcha George would’ve liked it better as a milkshake.
