Summer’s Winning Watermelon Recipes

Come on. You can’t think of one thing to do with watermelon, one of the great summertime dessert favorites (along with strawberry shortcake), other than cut it open, remove the seeds (no spitting them out now, unless your 12 or under), and letting big cool pieces of spongy red fruit melt deliriously in your mouth.
Well, that’s fun, too, but we would like to present here a host of other possibilities.
For starters, watermelon converts quite nicely to refreshing summer beverages—it’s mostly water anyway, isn’t it?—starting with watermelon lemonade and a knock-out watermelon cooler punch.
And if you’re not “cooking” with watermelon—you know, mixing chunks of it in with salads and other dishes—you’re really missing the boat, or maybe the watermelon wagon, in this case. Or go Greek with a watermelon salad of feta and mint. Go south of the border with a spicy watermelon salsa. Even Spain gets into the act to with a watermelon gazpacho. Finally, don’t miss a superb watermelon and goat cheese salad with lemon vinaigrette.
These recipes will turn everybody you know into a summer watermelon man or woman. Guaranteed.
Watermelon Lemonade
Make it in minutes and marvel at the flavor when lemons and watermelon are combined with kiwi.
Watermelon Salad with Feta and Mint
Why didn’t somebody think of this before? (Well, maybe the Greeks did.)
Watermelon Salsa
Heat from jalapeños pairs with the cool taste of watermelon for a crowd-pleasing chunky dip.
Watermelon & Goat Cheese Salad with Citrus Vinaigrette
A riot of color and contrasting flavors and textures. And it tastes terrific.
Watermelon Cooler Punch
Keep it cool and easy with a little grape juice, lime, and club soda.
Watermelon Gazpacho
Who needs tomatoes when you can make this perfect soup with watermelon instead?
Finish off a summer dinner with watermelon-yogurt ice!

Goat milk is often consumed by young children, the elderly, those who are ill, or have a low tolerance to cow’s milk. Goat milk is more similar to human milk than that of the cow, although there is large variation among breeds in both animals. Although the West has popularized the cow, goat milk and goat cheese are preferred dairy products in much of the rest of the world. Because goat cheese is often made in areas where refrigeration is limited, aged goat cheeses are often heavily treated with salt to prevent decay. As a result, salt has become associated with the flavor of goat cheese.,
