Let’s face it: what’s Thanksgiving for kids? Trick-or-treating is long over, and Santa’s just a glimpse in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Kids might not appreciate all the good food that’ll be at your table, but you can still whip up a fun turkey that they (and maybe some adults) will enjoy! This is also a perfect kitchen project for using up the leftovers as well. (Full disclosure, though: I haven’t cooked the turkey yet, so technically, the turkey in the photo is made from chicken!)
What You’ll Need:
roast turkey (or chicken) breast
1/4 c. mashed sweet potatoes (or any mashed potatoes)
1/2 c. salad mix
green beans (one for for each piece of meat)
2 dried cranberries
1 pecan
To Make Gobble Gobble Turkey:
Arrange the salad mix at the bottom of the plate for grass. Gently form mashed potatoes into a circle at the top of the salad for the turkey body. Slice roast turkey and put in place for the feathers. Place green beans on top of each slice of turkey. Shape the pecan into a triangle. Press the dried cranberries and pecan into the mashed potatoes for the beak and eyes.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
